Today I reached one one hundredth of a mile. I’ve painted 39
canvases, and that’s a milestone that means a lot to me. 17 yards. 53 feet. I’m amazed at the
difference between today’s paintings, and the first ones I did. I hope I feel
that way in July, when I will mark one year of painting. How many yards and
feet will it be then? I don’t know. How long is it going to take to paint a
mile? Maybe the rest of my life.
But it was very satisfying to reach that 1 one hundredth of
a mile point. It was especially satisfying to have one of the pictures I
painted today come from my own ideas.
So today I am feeling great motivation to continue on to my
goal. And I’d like to say that the
quality of my work is also telling me that moving forward to my goal is going
to be very exciting.
I would pay thousands of dollars to hang this in my home.
ReplyDeleteyou are an angel. Absolutely from heaven.
DeleteI really admire you for how you follow your dreams. You act on them and hopefully you will never someday say "what if .... ?" You try new things and you have the courage to share your experiences like this ! I have "zero" artistic talent, so I won't try to critique. I will say that I agree with a previous comment on your blog. I do feel the emotion in your work and I really do like it. Keep it up ! I think you are talented at this now, and you will only get better! God Bless you in your efforts .... and thanks for sharing !
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeff, those are very kind words! I was very hesitant to share this blog, because my paintings look kind of child-like and clearly very rough. Sometimes this new painting hobby seems kind of silly to me, but I have to say that I've never had more fun with a new activity. Thanks again for all you said.
